Day 1 - SEPT 20 (Mon) - Emeryville -AMTRAK
Board the AMTRAK California Zephir this morning at 9:10am for your two night trip to Chicago. (L,D)
Day 2 - SEPT 21 (Tues) - AMTRAK Continue east on your AMTRAK train towards Chicago. (B,L,D)
Day 3 - SEPT 22 (Wed) - Chicago - AMTRAK
Arrive in Chicago at 3:50pm and board the Capitol Limited at 6:50pm for your overnight trip to Washington DC. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - SEPT 23 (Thurs) - Washington DC Welcome to Washington DC! Arrive in Washington DC Union Station at 1:15pm where your Tour Director will greet you for your group transfer to your hotel. Meet your travel companions tonight for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming adventure. (B)
Day 5 - SEPT 24 (Fri) - Washington DC Begin your day with a visit to St. Patrick's Church. Afterwards enjoy a half-day guided tour featuring Arlington National Cemetery with the Kennedy Gravesite, and the Vietnam, Korean, and World War II Memorials, as well as many other well-known sites. Also stop for photos at the White House and Capitol Hill. Dinner this evening will be at a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 6 - SEPT 25 (Sat) - Washington DC
This morning visit Ford's Theatre and the Peterson House. See where President Lincoln was shot, the house where he died, and clothes worn by the president. Later visit Mount Vernon, the restored home of George Washington. Tour the house and gardens, and visit the gravesite. Dinner this evening will be at a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 7 - SEPT 26 (Sun) - Washington DC Attend mass this morning at the largest Roman Catholic Church in the country, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Following service, dine at the Basicilica's Cafeteria followed by a guided tour of this magnificent church. (B,L)
Day 8 - SEPT 27 (Mon) - Washington DC This morning visit the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. The remainder of your day is free. Maybe explore the Smithsonian Institute or return to the war memorials for a closer look. This evening enjoy an Illumination Tour of the beautiful monuments. (B)
Day 9 - SEPT 28 (Tues) - Washington DC - Gettysburg - Lancaster
Head north today to Gettysburg National Military Park. Enjoy a tour of Gettysburg and hear your Local Guide vividly recount the Battle of 1863. Afterwards, continue to Lancaster. Next stop is an Amish Farm & House, where a Local Guide explains this faith, culture, and traditional way of life that excludes the use of modern conveniences such as electricity and telephones. While here, enjoy an Amish dinner. (B,D)
Day 10 - SEPT 29 (Wed) - Lancaster - Philadelphia Early departure to Philadelphia, where your sightseeing focuses on the important buildings of this historic city, the birthplace of the nation. Major attractions you will visit include the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Continue on to the Philadelphia Airport for homebound flights. (B)

What you should know about this trip:
Amtrak:
The Superliner Roomette is ideal for one or two passengers, with two comfortable reclining seats on either side of a big picture window. At night, the seats convert to a comfortable bed, and an upper berth folds down from above. Roomettes are located on both upper and lower levels of our double-decker Superliner train cars.
The Superliner Bedroom is ideal for two passengers. Each room has a large sofa with two individually reclining sections, and a reclining easy chair. At night, the sofa converts to a comfortable bed, and an upper berth folds down from above. All Superliner Bedrooms feature private, self-enclosed restrooms with toilet, sink and shower. All Bedrooms are located on the upper level of the double-decker Superliner train cars.
For those leaving in the Davis / Sacramento area, it is possible to join the group later. The train will depart from Davis train station at 10:31am and will depart from Sacramento train station at 11:09am.

Transportation:
Motor coaches are fully air-conditioned everywhere while touring. No use of the motor coach other than as specified in the itinerary. One group airport transfer on departure to the Philadelphia airport: your flight must be departing no early than 3pm.
Sightseeing:
Sightseeing as outlined in the itinerary with inside visits (including admission charges) shown in BOLD in the tour description. Sightseeing with local guides where applicable.
Tour Director: The services of a professional Tour Director will be provided throughout.

What is not included:

Your return flight home is not included.
Pre night in San Francisco / Emeryville:
Four Points by Sheraton located 0.4 miles from the train station (AAA rate starting at $159 + tax) or Woodfin Suites located right across the train station (Senior rates starting at $199 + tax).
Post night in Philadelphia: The Sofitel Philadelphia starting at $229 + tax per night.
Pre and post nights are not part of the Globus Tours and will be booked with a valid credit card directly with the hotel with cancellation policy up to 72 hours prior to departure or arrival day. Hotel rates mentioned above available at the time of the printing of this brochure (October 20th, 2009). Rates might change until guaranteed with a valid credit card.
Deposit, Cancellation and Penalties:
A $250 per person deposit will be needed to secure your cabin/room.
Final payment due by July 16th, 2010.
If you cancel before May 21, 2010, your deposit will be refunded.
If you cancel between May 22-July 15, 2010, the deposit will not be refunded nor the trip protection. If you cancel after final payment, no refund unless you've purchased the insurance.
